Atwater Village,  1.78 sq. miles, lies southwest of Glendale and north of Silver Lake in an old river flood plain that provides fertile soil.  According to a 2008 estimate the population of Atwater Village is 15,455.

Close to Los Feliz, Atwater Village is more affordable and fast becoming a gentrified community.
