The Hancock Park area of Los Angeles is a long-established neighborhood with many stately mansions, including that of the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles, Getty House, in the Windsor Square area. Enjoying a lengthy and colorful history, according to the Windsor Square – Hancock Park Historical Society, construction of the homes in the Windsor Square and Fremont Place areas began in 1910, and the Hancock Park development started on Rossmore, moving west to Highland in 1921 Hancock Park is home to the quaint shopping district known as Larchmont Village.
The area known as Hancock Park – Wilshire is bounded by La Brea Ave. on the west, Melrose Ave. on the north, Western Ave. on the east.
