This site offers various options you may use to find your Los Angeles home. There are many pre-built searches including: by city, by community, by zip code or by price. But there is a powerful map function which will allow you to customize your own searches the way you want them. When you define your search you should only see homes that are presently in Active status and available for purchase (or rent). The feed is updated in real time directly from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), so what you find is direct from the source.
Below is a guide on how to use the map search most effectively:
Enter your Search Criteria
You are able to search for Los Angeles homes for sale by City, Community, Address, or MLS #. As you start to enter a location a drop-down menu will appear. If you see what you are looking for click on your choice. Next you can narrow down your search by price and/or features. As you input your criteria the map on the right will populate with homes for sale which meet those criteria.
Results
When you are satisfied with your search criteria, you may click on the Results tab shown on the top left of the diagram below.
The left column will bring up thumbnails of the homes which match your criteria and the right column will show their placement on the map. As you scroll down the left column the thumbnail will appear on the right also.
Home Details
Now you are ready to view the full details of each home. Just click on your home of interest and the following screen will open. Once you click on a particular property you will be in the Details section and the map will disappear. You can always toggle back by hitting the Map button on the top left of the map (see diagram above). Also you can choose which type of map you would like by clicking on the Type: Map button at the top right of the map when in Map mode (see diagram above).
In the property Details section you have various options. You can take notes, schedule an appointment, ask a question and share the property via email, Twitter, Google Buzz, or by a direct link. You will also see a mortgage calculator on the bottom left of the page which will give you an idea of your monthly mortgage payments for the home.
Tips:
Save your Favorite Properties – Each time you view a property for sale on my website you will see a notice at the top right that reads, “SAVE AS FAVORITE” with a star next to it. When you view a home that you love or would like to check out again just click the star to make it a favorite!
Viewing your Favorite Properties – Once you have saved some properties to your “favorites” you can view them again by clicking “Listings” at the top right of the search page which then allows you to view any properties you have saved as favorites, any properties you have written notes on, as well as any properties you have simply viewed.
If you would like to be kept up-to-date on the latest listings then you may sign up for an email alert.
You will be asked to set up an account and specify how often you would like to receive emails.
Please note that your phone number is not required, and you do not have to worry about being pestered by emails. You will get only one when you sign up and then feel free to browse the site in peace.
